Space Holding at Tikkun

If you’ve found yourself on this page, it’s likely you’ve been to Tikkun before and feel a desire to continue your work within this container. We honor that and are grateful for the many people who have felt called not only to receive from Tikkun, but to support it.

Since Tikkun’s founding, we’ve been met with an overwhelming response from individuals wanting to be part of the community in a deeper way. Many have expressed a desire to continue their own work while showing up in service as space holders during our weekend retreats. We’ve been fortunate to walk alongside so many who have done exactly that.

Historically, space holding at Tikkun has been offered as a volunteer role with little structure. These positions were typically filled by people who felt called to medicine spaces and wanted to give back, support others, and continue their own personal growth and healing. The reciprocity was simple: support the retreat through practical service, and in return, be part of the container.

As Tikkun has matured, so has our understanding of this role.

Space holding is not simply volunteering. It is a position of responsibility, discernment, and stewardship. The value received from participating in the retreat far exceeds the amount of physical work required, and the role itself carries real energetic, relational, and operational responsibility.

For this reason, as we move into the new year, we are restructuring how this role is held.

The Role of a Space Holder

Space holders support the retreat by maintaining a grounded presence and tending to both the practical and subtle aspects of the container. This role is not about guiding, fixing, or inserting oneself into another’s process. It is about steadiness, clarity, and respect for the work. Space holders are also expected to assist with setup, transitions, cleanup, and logistical flow.

To be clear, as a space holder, you are part of the retreat and will participate fully in all activities offered, while also holding a role of support throughout the weekend.

Reciprocity & Commitment

To preserve the integrity and sustainability of Tikkun, all space holders are asked to make a $350 Space Holder Donation.

This contribution is an investment into yourself and into the container itself, supporting the real operational costs of running retreats, caring for the land, the structures, staffing, preparation, and integration. It allows Tikkun to remain grounded, ethical, and sustainable over time.

This role is for those who feel called to serve the work with maturity, humility, and clarity.

If this resonates, you’re welcome to apply.
